Plural marriage—or one man marrying multiple women—has been practiced since ancient times (see [https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/ot/gen/16?lang=eng&id=1-3 Genesis 16:1–3]; [https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/dc-testament/dc/132?lang=eng&id=34-39#33 Doctrine and Covenants 132:34–39]). Plural Marriage

Plural marriage—or one man marrying multiple women—has been practiced since ancient times (see Genesis 16:1–3; Doctrine and Covenants 132:34–39). It was practiced among the Latter-day Saints as commanded by God (see Doctrine and Covenants 132:32–34, 40), until God directed that the Saints discontinue it (see Official Declaration 1).

Critics of The Church of Jesus Christ have raised many questions regarding the Church's historical practice of polygamy. Click the links below to find faithful answers to questions surrounding plural marriage.
